About the Founders

Dig South was founded in Charleston, SC by Stanfield and Sunny Gray to build better opportunities for their kids and all current and future founders in the South. 

The South should be a viable place to launch and scale a startup, just like Silicon Valley, Boston, NYC and other tech hotbeds. But you've got to pitch in, build an ecosystem, and do something about it.

Named one of Time magazine’s “31 People Changing the South,” Stanfield is a Liberty Fellow in the Aspen Global Leadership Network, and has 3x been named one of Charleston’s “50 Most Influential Leaders" by Charleston Business magazine. Gray is the founder of LoupeOS, a startup offering royalty payment solution for artificial intelligence, and a consultant on business strategy and growth with a focus on AI projects. Gray is a frequent speaker at conferences and other innovation-focused events.

Sunny is the founder of multiple successful businesses, including her current passion, Essentially Charleston, a curated collection of gift boxes, gift bags and products from Charleston makers, artisans, and designers. She was the founder of The Little Black Book for Every Busy Woman, a referral-based directory franchised to 8 cities.
